Flashback will return to the DRX active roster for the third time.ย
DRXย have officiallyย announcedย the return of Cho โFlashbackโ Min-hyuk to the main roster, alongside the promotion of academy talent Yoon โFlickerโ Tae-hee ahead of VCT Pacific Stage 2.
The announcement comes just one day before the start of theย Esports World Cup (EWC) VALORANT event, where Flicker is set to play in place of Park โEstrellaโ Geon, as confirmed by the tournament organizers. DRX noted that Flicker โhas shown significant growth throughout his time with DRX Academy and through his experiences in 2025 VCT Challengers Korea Split 1 & 2.โ
For Flashback, this marks his third return to DRXโs main roster following a recent personal leave that led to his move to DRX Academy, though he never played an official match during that time. DRX later revealed that he had been โsilently battling mental health challenges,โ and the organization has since been actively supporting his recovery.
โSince May, Flashback has been attending regular therapy sessions with a licensed professional, with progress regularly shared with DRX management. This support will of course continue throughout the remainder of the season and beyond,โ DRX stated.
In June, Flashback met with the coaching staff and the relevant team members to acknowledge his actions, take accountability, and take the first step to rebuild trust within the team. With approval from all relevant parties, Flashback has officially been called back to compete alongside our main roster,โ the statement added.
Flashback was last seen in action during Week 3 of VCT Pacific Stage 1โs Group Stage, where DRX recorded wins over Paper Rex, DetonatioN FocusMe, and Global Esports. The 19-year-old had shown strong form prior to his abrupt departure. However, a loss to BOOM Esports disrupted their momentum, and while DRX managed to recover somewhat, they narrowly missed qualification for VCT Masters Toronto after falling to eventual champions Paper Rex in the final qualification match.

DRX fared better during the mid-season third-party tournaments, capturing the title at the HERO ESPORTS Asian Champions League 2025 and securing a runner-up finish at the EWC Pacific Qualifier to earn their place at the EWC main event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As they head into Stage 2, DRX will be working with a seven-man lineup, though the final starting five has yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Flicker, who turned 18 today, is set to make his VCT Pacific debut. Since joining DRX Academy in September 2023, he has primarily played agents like Yoru, Sova, and Tejo, helping the team achieve top-six finishes in both stages of VALORANT Challengers Korea this year.
DRX will debut with Flicker at the EWC VALORANT event taking place July 8โ13. Their VCT Pacific Stage 2 campaign kicks off against Gen.G on July 16.
