16 Jun 2025

Becomes the First Player in the World to Achieve Back-To-Back Championships in Capcom Pro Tour Premier Events

LeShar (Moonsup Shin) from the premier esports & gaming organization, DRX, set a new milestone in Street Fighter 6 history by winning the title at CEO 2025, held in Orlando, USA from June 13th to 15th (local time). CEO is recognized as one of the three major fighting game tournaments in the world, alongside EVO and COMBO BREAKER.

Following his championship at COMBO BREAKER 2025 in May, LeShar secured back-to-back titles by claiming the championship at CEO 2025, achieving an unprecedented feat as the first player ever to win consecutive Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) Premier events. This remarkable accomplishment is considered highly significant not only in the history of fighting games in South Korea, but also for the global fighting game community as a whole.

LeShar also secured a spot at the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, set to take place this August in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by finishing third at Capcom Cup XI in March. In addition, his victory at COMBO BREAKER 2025 had already earned him qualification for Capcom Cup XII, scheduled for March 2026.

A total of 4,293 fighting game players participated across various titles at CEO 2025, with 837 competitors entering the Street Fighter 6 tournament. LeShar advanced to the Top 8 with an undefeated record in the group stage. In the winners’ bracket quarterfinal and semifinal, he defeated Zhen from China and NL from South Korea, respectively, to secure his place in the grand final. Meanwhile, NL defeated America’s PUNK in the losers’ final to earn a rematch against LeShar in the grand final.

In the grand final, played in a double-elimination format, LeShar entered the match from the winners’ side, giving him two chances to secure the championship. He started with his main character, Mai, whom he had used in the winners’ final, but lost the first set, allowing a bracket reset. In the deciding match, he brought out Ed, but found himself in a difficult position by dropping the first set. He then switched to Terry, winning the second set to tie things up, but lost the third set, giving his opponent a 2-1 lead and the championship point. However, LeShar maintained his focus to the very end, winning two consecutive sets and ultimately securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory in a thrilling full-set battle.

With this victory, DRX’s global stature has not only been strengthened, but firmly established at the very center of the world fighting game stage. Anticipation among fans around the globe for LeShar’s performance at the upcoming EWC 2025 is now higher than ever.

DRX CEO Sun Il Yang stated, “We are truly proud that LeShar has made unprecedented history as the first-ever player to win back-to-back CPT Premier titles, elevating the name of DRX to the pinnacle of the global fighting game scene. DRX will continue to produce
