DRX's Lee 'Rich' Jae-won, who defeated Nongshim RedForce and secured his first LCK Cup victory, expressed his relief that the victory helped him regain confidence.

DRX defeated Nongshim 2-1 in the LCK Cup group stage battle held at the Gran Seoul Chijijik LoL Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 23rd. DRX claimed their first win after three straight losses in the Elder Group Stage. Nongshim, on the other hand, suffered their third loss (1 win) in the Baron Group Stage.

In a post-match interview, Lee Jae-won said, "We got our first win of the year. To be honest, we were confident during practice," and added, "However, I think it's different in real matches. As we've had many losses, everyone's confidence has been lost. I was really depressed when we lost to DN Supers (DNS), but I'm glad we were able to regain our confidence with today's win."

DRX, who had previously suffered three consecutive losses, lost to T1 and DNS by a narrow margin. Lee Jae-won explained, "Since the players had not experienced victory, we played with the mindset that we had to win no matter what, even if we had a slight advantage. Because of that, we made mistakes and it felt like we were losing the game." He continued, "After the match against DNS, the head coach and general manager talked to us, saying, 'Since we've lost, let's all relax and play.' That's when I felt at ease." He added that

when they lost the second set to Nongshim that day, the DNS match came to mind. Lee Jae-won said, "I chose Gwen, but when I lost to Kalista-Renata, I was a little anxious because I thought about the third set of DNS. After the second set, the coach told me not to worry because the ban picks in the third set would definitely be advantageous. Thanks to that, I was able to go in with a relaxed mind."

When asked about the situation after giving up three kills to the opponent Caitlyn in the mid lane battle in the latter half of the third set, Lee Jae-won replied, "Even if we gave everything we had, I thought we could win if we played again when Jhin and Orianna Flash (Flash) came back." He added, "The players also played without getting impatient."

Regarding the newly joined head coach Cho 'Joker' Jae-eup, he said, "The direction has become clearer, and he's utilizing Son 'Ucal' Woo-hyeon well. I think we'll be able to produce different results than last year." He praised the coach, saying, "I think the coach has a very high level of understanding of the game. His philosophy on bans and picks is also clear. It's a strength that we feel like our direction is clear."

DRX will play Brion in Super Week today. Lee Jae-won said, "The Elder group and Baron group are close, and we will definitely win against Brion to help the Elder group. Our first win of the year came late, but I'm grateful to the fans who have supported us so far. We will do our best to show an even better performance in the future."
